Miles Overview
The 5 Series is BMW's mid-size executive sedan, offered as a sedan or wagon for 2008. It's a car that rewards a spirited drive, with precise steering and a balanced chassis that makes it feel smaller than it is. The ride is firm but controlled, a trade-off for the sharp handling that keeps it composed on twisty roads. Inside, the cabin is well-built with quality materials, and the back seat offers decent space for adults. Stepping up to the 535xi from the 528xi adds a more powerful 3.0L I6 and all-wheel drive, making it the choice for year-round capability without sacrificing the 5 Series' driving character. The 3.0L I6 makes 300 horsepower, and the all-wheel drive delivers confident traction in rain or snow while keeping the chassis balanced. The all-wheel-drive system adds a bit of weight over the rear-drive 535i, so the steering feels slightly heavier, but the grip is noticeably better on loose surfaces.
