Miles Overview
The 2015 5 Series is BMW's mid-size executive sedan, the one that blends luxury with a sporty character. It drives with a balance of comfort and agility that makes it feel smaller than it is, though the steering is lighter than older BMWs. Inside, the cabin is roomy and upscale, with plenty of space for four adults and a trunk that swallows luggage easily. The iDrive infotainment system is responsive and includes a large screen, navigation, and available features like a head-up display. The 550i is the one you pick when you want the full muscle of BMW's V8, with more punch than the 535i and a sharper character than the ActiveHybrid 5. Its 4.4L V8 makes 443 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, routed through a eight-speed automatic to the rear wheels, and it pulls hard enough to pin you in the seat.
