Miles Overview
The Z4 is BMW's two-seat roadster, a convertible built for sunny days and winding roads rather than daily practicality. It's a proper sports car with sharp steering and a chassis that loves to be pushed, yet it stays composed enough for a long highway cruise. The cabin is snug but well laid out, with a soft-top that folds quickly and keeps wind noise down at highway speeds. Trunk space is modest, so pack light for a weekend trip, but there's enough room for a couple of soft bags. The sDrive30i is the entry point to Z4 ownership, trading the M40i's six-cylinder for a balanced approach that still delivers the same sharp steering and open-air fun. Its 2.0L I4 makes 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, routed through an eight-speed automatic to the rear wheels, giving it brisk acceleration without overwhelming the chassis. Expect 28 mpg combined from the four-cylinder, and the soft-top folds in about 10 seconds at speeds up to 30 mph.
