Miles Overview
The 8 Series is BMW's large luxury coupe, convertible, and four-door Gran Coupe, aimed at buyers who want a grand tourer with serious presence. It's a big car that shrinks around you on a back road, with sharp steering and a chassis that stays composed even when you push it. Inside, the cabin is quiet and trimmed with high-quality materials, and the Gran Coupe's rear seats and trunk make it a practical daily driver. The standard tech includes a large curved display with iDrive, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a head-up display on most trims. The 840i xDrive Gran Coupe shares its 3.0L I6 and eight-speed automatic with the rear-drive 840i, so this trim's upgrade is traction in snow or rain from the all-wheel-drive system. Its 3.0L I6 makes 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, enough to move this four-door grand tourer with effortless pace, yet it still returns 24 mpg combined. The Gran Coupe body adds two usable rear seats and a bigger trunk, so you can treat it like a daily driver without giving up the coupe profile.
