Miles Overview
The 7 Series is BMW's flagship sedan, the car that sets the tone for the rest of the lineup. It drives with a composed, planted feel that makes long highway miles disappear quickly. Inside, the cabin is generously sized, with plenty of room for four adults and a quiet, upscale atmosphere. Running costs run high, so budget for premium fuel, pricey parts, and a mechanic who knows BMWs. The 740i is the standard-wheelbase model, while the 740iL stretches the wheelbase for more rear legroom. Its 4.4L I8 makes 282 horsepower and pairs with an automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, giving it strong highway passing power. This trim rides on standard suspension, so expect a firm but controlled ride that stays composed on rough roads.
