Miles Overview
The 8 Series is BMW's flagship grand tourer, a large luxury coupe, convertible, or four-door Gran Coupe that prioritizes style and long-distance comfort. On the road it feels planted and composed, with a calm, confident stride that suits highway cruising, and the steering is precise enough to make back roads enjoyable. The ride is on the firm side, especially with larger wheels, but it stays supple enough for daily use, and the seats are exceptionally supportive on long trips. Inside, the cabin is trimmed in high-quality materials and feels genuinely upscale, with comfortable seating for four and a trunk that's generous for the class. If you want the full 8 Series experience with the V8, the M850i is the one to pick over the 840i, and the convertible adds open-air thrills. The 4.4L V8 makes 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, and with all-wheel drive and the eight-speed automatic, it launches hard and hooks up confidently in any weather.
