Miles Overview
The 5 Series is BMW's mid-size luxury sedan, the one that blends executive comfort with a sporty character. It's the kind of car that makes you look for the long way home, with precise steering and a chassis that feels alive. The ride is firm but well controlled, so you feel the road without being beaten up on a long trip. Inside, the cabin is quiet and well put together, with comfortable seats and plenty of room for four adults. Stepping up to the 550i xDrive from the 535i gives you the 4.4L V8 with 400 horsepower and standard all-wheel drive, plus a sportier suspension and larger brakes. The 4.4L V8 makes 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque, paired with a eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, and returns 18 mpg combined. The xDrive system sends power to all four wheels for confident grip in rain or snow, while the adaptive drive mode can firm up the dampers and sharpen the throttle.
