Miles Overview
The 6 Series is BMW's grand tourer, a two-door coupe or convertible that prioritizes style and long-distance comfort over pure sportiness. It's a relaxed cruiser at highway speeds, with a smooth ride that soaks up miles effortlessly, though the steering feels a bit numb compared to smaller BMWs. Inside, the cabin is a mix of high-quality materials and dated tech, with snug rear seats that are best left for occasional use. Running costs are on the higher side, with premium fuel, pricey parts, and the occasional electronic gremlin to watch for. The 650i is the only trim for the 2006 6 Series, so you get the full grand-tourer experience without any lesser option to consider. Its 4.8L I8 makes 360 horsepower and drives the rear-wheel drive through a six-speed automatic or optional manual, giving it effortless highway passing. The optional Active Steering changes ratio with speed, which tightens the turning circle at low speeds but can feel artificial on center.
