Miles Overview
The 8 Series is BMW's grand tourer, a large luxury coupe, convertible, or four-door Gran Coupe that prioritizes long-distance comfort over track-day thrills. It's a car that feels effortlessly quick and composed, with a hushed cabin that makes highway miles disappear. The cabin is beautifully built from rich materials, though rear-seat space is tight in the coupe and convertible versions. Standard tech includes a large curved display with iDrive, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a head-up display on most trims. All-wheel drive traction and the eight-speed automatic set the 840i xDrive apart from the rear-drive 840i, making it the choice for wet roads or snowy drives. Its 3.0L I6 makes 335 horsepower and routes power through the eight-speed automatic to all four wheels, giving it a relaxed, refined feel rather than a sharp edge. The coupe body keeps the wheelbase short and the handling nimble, though the tight rear seat is the trade-off for its sleek shape.
