Miles Overview
The 7 Series is BMW's flagship sedan, the one that goes up against the S-Class and A8 with a mix of luxury and sharp driving manners. It's a big car that shrinks around you on a back road, with steering that's more direct than you'd expect from a limousine. The air suspension soaks up rough pavement beautifully, and the cabin stays hushed even at highway speeds. Inside, you get a sprawling, tech-heavy cabin with massaging seats and plenty of room for four adults to stretch out. The 740e iPerformance is the plug-in hybrid of the 7 Series lineup, a pick for buyers who want electric commuting alongside the 750i's V8 power. Its 2.0L I4 plug-in hybrid and electric motor combine for 322 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, and the battery gives you 14 miles of range of silent driving before the gas engine kicks in. You can charge the battery overnight on a household outlet, and the hybrid system returns 27 mpg combined in regular use.
