Miles Overview
The 7 Series is BMW's flagship sedan, the one that goes up against the S-Class and the A8. It's big, but it drives smaller than it looks, with sharp steering and a chassis that stays composed on twisty roads. The air suspension soaks up bumps beautifully, and the cabin stays hushed at highway speeds. Inside, you get a spacious, tech-rich cabin with massaging seats and a rear-seat entertainment option. The 740e is the plug-in hybrid of the 7 Series range, sitting between the 740i and 750i with a 2.0L I4 hybrid powertrain. The 2.0L I4 plug-in hybrid teams with an electric motor for 322 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, making it surprisingly quick while returning 27 mpg combined. You can drive on electric power alone for a short distance, but the trade-off is a smaller trunk than other 7 Series models.
