Miles Overview
The 7 Series is BMW's flagship sedan, the one that goes up against the S-Class and the A8. It's big, but it drives smaller than it looks, with sharp steering and a chassis that stays composed on twisty roads. The air suspension soaks up bumps beautifully, and the cabin stays hushed at highway speeds. Inside, you get a spacious, tech-rich cabin with massaging seats and a rear-seat entertainment option. The 740i xDrive is the all-wheel-drive version of the base six-cylinder 7 Series, so you get traction in snow or rain without stepping up to the V8-powered 750i. Its 3.0L I6 makes 320 horsepower and pairs with the eight-speed automatic to move this big sedan smoothly, and the all-wheel drive keeps it planted in all conditions. Fuel economy checks in at 22 mpg combined, which is respectable for a full-size luxury sedan with all-wheel drive.
