Miles Overview
The 7 Series is BMW's flagship sedan, the one that goes up against the S-Class and the A8. It's big, but it drives smaller than it looks, with sharp steering and a chassis that stays composed on twisty roads. The air suspension soaks up bumps beautifully, and the cabin stays hushed at highway speeds. Inside, you get a spacious, tech-rich cabin with massaging seats and a rear-seat entertainment option. The 740i is the entry point to the 7 Series, giving up the V8 of the 750i for a lighter front end and better fuel economy. Its 3.0L I6 makes 320 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, enough to move this big sedan with surprising ease, and the eight-speed automatic shifts smoothly. You get the standard air suspension and rear-wheel drive, which keeps the steering feel sharper than the xDrive versions.
