Miles Overview
The 5 Series is BMW's mid-size luxury sedan, the one that splits the difference between the 3 Series and the 7 Series. It's a car that feels smaller than it is from the driver's seat, with quick steering and a planted feel that makes long trips easy. Inside, the cabin is roomy and well laid out, with supportive seats and plenty of space for four adults. The iDrive infotainment system is one of the easiest to use, with a rotary controller and crisp graphics. You give up the M550i's V8 but save over fourteen thousand dollars, and the 540i's inline-six is still seriously quick. The 3.0L I6 makes 335 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque, paired with a smooth eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive that delivers confident grip in all weather. The xDrive system's rear bias lets the sedan handle like a rear-drive car until you need the extra traction.
