Miles Overview
The 2018 6 Series is BMW's grand-touring flagship, offered as a sleek Gran Coupe or a drop-top convertible for those who want luxury with a sporting edge. It's a car that loves the highway, settling into a long-legged cruise with effortless power and a hushed cabin, though the ride can feel a bit firm over sharp bumps. Despite its size, it changes direction with surprising agility, and the steering gives you a clear sense of what the front tires are doing. Inside, you get a beautifully crafted cabin with comfortable seats and plenty of tech, but rear headroom in the Gran Coupe is tight for taller passengers. The 640i xDrive gives you BMW's xDrive all-weather grip over the standard 640i, making it the one to pick if you deal with snow or wet roads regularly. Its 3.0L I6 makes 315 horsepower and pairs with a smooth eight-speed automatic, so it's plenty quick for merging or passing with the top down. Fuel economy comes in at 22 mpg combined, which is reasonable for a big convertible, and the trunk holds 11.0 cubic feet of cargo space.
