Miles Overview
The 2018 6 Series is BMW's grand-touring flagship, offered as a sleek Gran Coupe or a drop-top convertible for those who want luxury with a sporting edge. It's a car that loves the highway, settling into a long-legged cruise with effortless power and a hushed cabin, though the ride can feel a bit firm over sharp bumps. Despite its size, it changes direction with surprising agility, and the steering gives you a clear sense of what the front tires are doing. Inside, you get a beautifully crafted cabin with comfortable seats and plenty of tech, but rear headroom in the Gran Coupe is tight for taller passengers. Stepping up to the 650i Gran Coupe from the 640i brings the 4.4L V8 with 443 horsepower and a firmer suspension tune that sharpens the handling. The rear-wheel drive 4.4L V8 makes this a relaxed highway cruiser, yet it steams to 60 mph in under five seconds. On the Gran Coupe, the rear seats are two individual chairs, and the hatch-like trunk opening makes loading longer items easier than in the sedan.
