Miles Overview
The 5 Series is BMW's mid-size executive sedan, the one most people cross-shop with the Audi A6 and Mercedes E-Class. It's a car that rewards an eager driver, with precise steering and a chassis that feels planted through fast corners. The ride is on the firm side, especially with the larger wheels, but it stays composed over broken pavement. Inside, the cabin is roomy for four adults, and the trunk is generous for a sedan of this size. The 535i xDrive Gran Turismo is the hatchback version of the 5 Series, with more cargo room than the sedan but a higher base price than the 535i xDrive sedan. Its 3.0L I6 makes 300 horsepower and pairs with a smooth eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, getting 21 mpg combined.
