Miles Overview
The 5 Series is BMW's mid-size luxury sedan, the one most people cross-shop with the Audi A6 and Mercedes E-Class. It's the kind of car that makes you look for the long way home, with sharp steering and a chassis that stays composed on twisty roads. The cabin is a quiet, well-built place to spend time, with supportive seats and a clean layout that puts everything within reach. The trunk is generous for the class, and the rear seats fold down when you need to haul something longer than the trunk allows. The 535i xDrive Gran Turismo is the one to pick if you want the 5 Series' comfort with more cargo room than the standard sedan, while the regular 535i xDrive gives up that hatchback practicality. Its 3.0L I6 makes 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, routed through an eight-speed automatic to all-wheel drive, and returns 21 mpg combined. The Gran Turismo's hatchback opens to 60.0 cubic feet of cargo space of cargo space, and its standard rear air suspension keeps the ride smooth even when you load it up.
