Miles Overview
The 5 Series is BMW's mid-size executive sedan, the one most people cross-shop with the Audi A6 and Mercedes E-Class. It's a car that rewards an eager driver, with precise steering and a chassis that feels planted through fast corners. The ride is on the firm side, especially with the larger wheels, but it stays composed over broken pavement. Inside, the cabin is roomy for four adults, and the trunk is generous for a sedan of this size. All-wheel drive grip and a more efficient 2.0L I4 set the 528i xDrive apart from the rear-drive 528i below it. The 2.0L I4 pairs with a smooth eight-speed automatic, delivering 241 horsepower to all four wheels and 26 mpg combined in mixed driving.
