Miles Overview
The 2014 BMW 3 Series is the compact sport sedan benchmark, offered as a sedan or wagon with rear- or all-wheel drive. It squares off against the Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Lexus IS, with a Gran Turismo hatchback adding a bit more space. The steering is precise and the chassis balanced, making the 3 Series genuinely enjoyable on a back road. The ride is firm, especially on run-flat tires, but that tautness is the trade-off for its sharp handling. The sedan offers a usable trunk and comfortable rear seats, while the wagon adds versatility for cargo. The Gran Turismo trades the 335i's inline-six for the 328i's four-cylinder and adds a hatchback body, saving you money while keeping all-wheel drive. Its 2.0L I4 makes 241 horsepower and pairs with a smooth eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, returning 26 mpg combined.
