2016 BMW 4 Series 435i

The 4 Series is BMW's compact luxury coupe, convertible, and four-door Gran Coupe, the sportier sibling to the 3 Series sedan. It's the kind of car that makes you take the long way home, with sharp steering and a chassis that feels eager through corners. The cabin is driver-focused and well-built, though rear seats are snug in the coupe and convertible, so plan for occasional passengers. The Gran Coupe's hatchback opens wide, giving it far more cargo room than the coupe or convertible for everyday hauling. A more powerful inline-six and standard leather upholstery set the 435i apart from the 428i models in BMW's 2016 4 Series lineup. Its 3.0L I6 makes 300 horsepower and is paired with eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, returning 24 mpg combined on premium fuel. The convertible adds open-air motoring without losing the coupe's sharp steering, though the powered top eats into trunk space.
