2023 BMW 5 Series 530e xDrive

The 2023 BMW 5 Series is a midsize luxury sedan that blends executive comfort with the brand's signature athleticism. It goes head-to-head with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Audi A6, offering a more driver-focused take on the segment. The 5 Series feels composed and eager, with precise steering and a chassis that rewards smooth inputs on a back road. Inside, the cabin is roomy and well-built, with supportive seats and a clean, driver-oriented layout. Standard tech includes BMW's iDrive infotainment with a large touchscreen, plus a full suite of driver assistance features. The 530e xDrive trades the 540i's smooth inline-six for a plug-in hybrid powertrain, which saves you at the pump and lets you commute on electric power alone. Its 2.0L I4 plug-in hybrid makes 288 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, routed through the eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, so you get strong off-the-line punch and confident traction in all weather. On a full charge you get 19 miles of range of silent driving, and the hybrid system recovers energy under braking to stretch your fuel dollars further.
