Miles Overview
The 2 Series is BMW's compact two-door, offered as a coupe or convertible, and it's the smallest rear-drive-based car in the lineup. It's a sharp little driver's car, with quick steering and a balanced chassis that makes it feel playful on a back road. The ride is on the firm side, especially with the M Sport suspension, but that's the trade for how flat it stays in corners. Inside, the cabin is snug but well put together, and the back seats are best left for short trips or extra cargo. The M240i sits above the 230i models with a 3.0L I6 and 335 horsepower, and it's the one to pick if you want the extra punch without stepping up to the full M2. The 3.0L I6 pairs with the eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, delivering strong thrust from low revs and a smooth, eager feel that makes the car feel quicker than its numbers suggest. As a convertible, this M240i trades some chassis rigidity for open-air driving, and you'll notice a bit more cowl shake over bumps than in the coupe.
