Miles Overview
The 7 Series is BMW's full-size flagship sedan, competing with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Audi A8. Even the base six-cylinder moves this big sedan with authority, and the V8 makes it genuinely quick. Air suspension keeps the ride plush on the highway, while the cabin stays remarkably hushed at speed. The interior is a showcase of leather, wood, and a curved display that houses the latest iDrive. Rear-wheel drive and the standard inline-six set the 740i apart from the V8-powered 760i xDrive, making it the more efficient choice in the 7 Series lineup. The 3.0L I6 pairs with a eight-speed automatic and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that smooths stop-start and adds a torque assist, earning 27 mpg combined. Adaptive air suspension comes standard on every 740i, so you get the same plush highway ride whether you stick with the 20-inch wheels or upgrade to larger ones.
