Miles Overview
The 2 Series is BMW's compact coupe and convertible, the entry point into the brand's rear-drive sports cars. It's the rare small BMW that still feels eager and tossable, with sharp steering and a balance that makes back roads fun. The cabin is snug but well built, with supportive seats and a clean layout; rear seats are tight, and the convertible's trunk is small. Standard tech includes a crisp iDrive screen, Bluetooth, and a rearview camera, with available navigation and driver aids. Stepping up to the M235i swaps the 228i's four-cylinder for a 3.0L I6 with 320 horsepower, sharper suspension tuning, and a more aggressive look inside and out. The 3.0L I6 pairs with the eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, delivering strong acceleration and a willing, rev-happy character that earns 25 mpg combined. An M Performance exhaust was a popular option, and it gives the car a deeper, more urgent note that suits the chassis.
