Miles Overview
The 2021 5 Series is BMW's midsize luxury sedan, the one that splits the difference between the compact 3 Series and the flagship 7 Series. It's a car that feels planted and precise on the highway, yet still eager when you push it through a series of corners. Inside, the cabin is quiet and well put together, with supportive seats and plenty of room for four adults. The iDrive infotainment system is one of the more intuitive in the class, and it's paired with a crisp digital gauge cluster. The 530e is the plug-in hybrid version of the 5 Series, sharing its 2.0L I4 with the 530i but adding an electric motor for around-town electric driving. Its 2.0L I4 plug-in hybrid makes 180 horsepower combined, and BMW says you'll get 21 miles of range on a full charge before the eight-speed automatic takes over.
