Miles Overview
The 2017 Q5 is Audi's compact luxury SUV, the one you cross-shop with the BMW X3 and Mercedes GLC. It's a composed, confident driver, especially in snow, though the ride can get a bit noisy on coarse pavement. Inside, the cabin feels upscale and well-built, with comfortable seats and a smart, intuitive layout. Cargo space is decent for the class, but the rear seat doesn't slide or recline, which limits flexibility. The Premium Plus skips the Prestige's adaptive cruise and upgraded audio, but keeps the same strong 272 horsepower 3.0L engine and leather seats for thousands less. With 272 horsepower from the 3.0L I6 and a quick-shifting eight-speed automatic, this Q5 pulls hard from a stop and cruises quietly at highway speeds, returning 21 mpg combined.
