Miles Overview
The 2018 Audi Q5 is a compact luxury SUV that slots between the Q3 and Q7, competing with the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC. The Q5 feels balanced and responsive, with sharp steering and a composed ride that smooths out most bumps. Inside, the cabin is opulent and quiet, with supportive seats and a long list of standard tech features. Cargo space is tight behind the rear seats, but folding them opens up plenty of room for gear. Predicted reliability is below average, and owners report that repairs and maintenance can be pricey. The Prestige is the top Q5, the one to pick if you want the full tech suite; the Premium Plus below it skips the head-up display and the bigger sound system. Under the hood is a 2.0L I4 making 252 horsepower, sent through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic to all-wheel drive; expect 25 mpg combined. Only the Prestige gets the head-up display and the 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio, so if you want the full tech experience, this is the trim.
