Miles Overview
The 2020 SQ5 is Audi's performance-tuned compact SUV, the one you cross-shop with the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 and BMW X3 M40i. It's quick and handles with a confidence that surprises for a small luxury SUV, though the ride is on the firm side. Inside, the cabin feels well-built with sporty touches, and the sliding rear seat adds useful versatility. Tech is a step behind some rivals, but you still get Audi's crisp virtual cockpit and a responsive touchscreen. The base Premium trim sets the SQ5 apart from the Premium Plus and Prestige by skipping the upgraded audio and adaptive cruise control, keeping the price lower while sharing the same powertrain. Every SQ5 uses a 3.0L V6 making 349 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, paired with a eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive that delivers quick, planted acceleration and 20 mpg combined. The Premium still gets the sport-tuned suspension and the same 0-60 time as the pricier trims, so you don't give up any performance by choosing it.
