Miles Overview
This is Mercedes-Benz's full-size van, the one you see hauling cargo or converted into a camper. It drives like a big commercial van, with a commanding view and a steady, predictable feel on the highway. The ride is firm and a bit bouncy when empty, but it settles down nicely once you've got some weight in the back. You get a tall, boxy cargo area and sliding side doors, so loading and unloading is about as easy as it gets. The 170 WB High Roof is the longest Sprinter, built for max cargo volume; the standard-roof 3500XD is easier to park. Its 3.0L automatic transmission routes power to the rear-wheel drive, so it feels steady and unstressed with a load aboard. This van has no factory options to worry about, but the extra wheelbase makes U-turns in the city a two-point affair.
