The 2024 GLC-Class is Mercedes' compact luxury SUV, slotting between the GLA and the larger GLE with a more premium feel than its smaller sibling. It squares off against the BMW X3, Audi Q5, and Volvo XC60, all offering similar blends of comfort and tech. The GLC balances a composed ride with eager handling, and the AMG variant sharpens throttle response and adds a sportier exhaust note. Inside, the cabin uses high-quality materials and a large touchscreen, with room for five and a practical cargo area. Standard tech includes a digital instrument cluster, a central touchscreen with the latest MBUX interface, and wireless smartphone connectivity. Standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive and a mild-hybrid 4-cylinder set the GLC 300 apart from the rear-drive GLC 300 that Mercedes also offers for 2024. A 2.0L I4 mild-hybrid paired with a nine-speed automatic sends 255 horsepower to all four wheels, and the 48-volt system smooths the stop-start cycle around town. The GLC 300 comes on 18-inch wheels as standard, which means a noticeably softer ride over rough pavement than the optional 19- or 20-inch sets.
