Miles Overview
The GLA-Class is Mercedes' smallest SUV, a subcompact crossover that competes with the BMW X1 and Audi Q3. It's nimble around town and surprisingly eager on a back road, with quick steering and a firm, controlled ride. Inside, the cabin feels upscale for the class, with a sleek dashboard and dual screens, though rear legroom is tight. Reliability is about average for the brand, with some owners noting electronic glitches in the infotainment and driver aids. Its 2.0L I4 makes 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, which feels quick off the line and returns 27 mpg combined. The standard 18-inch wheels and MB-Tex leatherette seats keep the GLA 250 practical, but the ride is firm enough that you'll notice expansion joints on the highway.
