Miles Overview
The CLE-Class is Mercedes-Benz's new two-door, offered as a coupe or convertible, and it replaces the old C-Class and E-Class coupes. It's a comfortable grand tourer, with a smooth ride and plenty of grip, though the steering could use a bit more feel. Inside, you get a clean dashboard with a large touchscreen, and the front seats are supportive, but the rear seats are tight for adults. Running costs are typical for a German luxury car, so budget for premium fuel and higher maintenance bills. Stepping up to the CLE 53 AMG from the CLE 450 gives you the full AMG treatment: a hand-built engine, adaptive suspension, active rear steering, and a more aggressive look inside and out. Its 3.0L I6 with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system makes 443 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque, and the nine-speed automatic and all-wheel drive put it down smoothly, with the electric assist filling in any lag. The AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension lets you switch between Comfort and Sport+ damper maps, so the coupe can be a relaxed cruiser or a sharp corner carver at the touch of a button.
