Miles Overview
The EQS is Mercedes-Benz's flagship electric sedan, a tech-laden luxury cruiser that sets the tone for the brand's EV future. It goes up against the Tesla Model S and Lucid Air, but with a more opulent cabin and a smoother, quieter ride than either. The EQS glides with an almost silent confidence, and the standard air suspension soaks up rough pavement without breaking a sweat. The cabin is vast and hushed, with a sweeping dashboard that can be fitted with the massive Hyperscreen display spanning the width of the car. AMG's hand-built electric motors and the standard DYNAMIC PLUS package with Race Start set the EQS 53 apart from the 580, giving it a brutal turn of speed when you want it. With 649 horsepower and 700 lb-ft of torque going to all four wheels, acceleration is violent yet eerily silent, and the air suspension keeps everything composed even during hard launches. The standard AMG Ride Control+ air suspension lets you toggle from floaty comfort to taut body control, though the 21-inch wheels can thump over sharp expansion joints.
