Miles Overview
The S-Class is Mercedes-Benz's flagship sedan, the car the brand's reputation is built on. It wafts down the road with an effortless, quiet confidence that makes long trips feel short. The cabin is a masterclass in luxury, with first-class rear seats and a dashboard dominated by a huge OLED screen. Expect to pay for the privilege, though; the S-Class is pricey to insure and maintain. The S 63 E Performance is the high-performance plug-in hybrid of the S-Class lineup, for buyers who want supercar power without giving up the sedan's luxury. Its 4.0L V8 plug-in hybrid makes 791 horsepower and 1055 lb-ft of torque, routed through a nine-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, so it launches like a rocket yet can run silently on electric power for short trips. The AMG RIDE CONTROL+ air suspension with active roll stabilization keeps the big sedan flat through corners, but the ride is firmer than the standard S-Class's magic-carpet feel.
