Miles Overview
The Civic Type R is Honda's hot hatchback, the one that takes the regular Civic and turns it into a track-ready machine. It's a front-wheel-drive car that puts its power down with surprising tenacity, and the manual gearbox is a joy to row through the gates. The adaptive dampers let you switch from a firm but tolerable daily ride to a taut track setup, and the steering is quick and precise. Inside, you get heavily bolstered seats and a driver-focused cockpit, though the hatchback body keeps it practical enough for everyday use. The R Limited Edition drops the rear seats and air conditioning to save weight, making it the lightest and most focused Type R for the US. Its 2.0L I4 makes 306 horsepower and drives the front wheels through a manual transmission, with a sharper throttle map and a quicker steering ratio than the standard Type R. Honda built only 600 of these for the US, and each one wears a unique yellow paint and lightweight 20-inch forged alloy wheels.
