Miles Overview
The 2005 Civic is Honda's compact car, sold as a coupe, sedan, or hatchback, and it's the model most people cross-shop with the Corolla and Sentra. It's not quick, but the Civic feels light and nimble, with a turning radius that makes parking and U-turns a breeze. The cabin is roomier than the exterior suggests, though the backseat is tight in coupe form and some interior bits show wear with age. Reliability is the Civic's strong suit, with owners reporting few issues beyond routine maintenance and the occasional worn-out strut or alternator. The Si gives up the base engine's fuel economy for a 160 horsepower 2.0L I4 and sharper suspension, but costs less than a similarly sorted sport compact from Subaru or Mazda. The three-door hatchback body nets 35.7 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded, making it more practical than the coupe's tiny trunk.
