This is McLaren's hardcore 600LT in open-top form, the convertible version of the track-focused Sports Series. It feels like a race car you can drive on the road, with razor-sharp steering and immense grip. The ride is stiff and the cabin is loud, which is the trade for how directly it communicates. The carbon-fiber tub keeps weight down, but the cabin is snug and storage is minimal. Its 3.8L V8 makes 592 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque, sent through a seven-speed automatic to the rear wheels, and it hits 60 mph in under three seconds. The retractable hardtop operates at speeds up to 25 mph, so you can drop it without pulling over.
