Miles Overview
The Range Rover Velar is the sleek, mid-size SUV in Land Rover's lineup, sitting between the Evoque and the full-size Range Rover. On the road it feels more like a grand tourer than a traditional SUV, with a smooth, quiet ride and surprisingly sharp steering. The air suspension keeps body roll in check, and the all-wheel-drive system gives you confidence in the wet or on light trails. Inside, the cabin is minimalist and modern, with a dual-screen infotainment setup and plenty of space for four adults. The P250 R-Dynamic S is the entry point to the Velar range, trading the stronger six-cylinder engines of the P340 and HST for the lowest starting price. Its 2.0L I4 makes 247 horsepower and works with a eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, which is plenty for daily driving but feels modest against the Velar's weight and styling. You still get the same air suspension and dual-screen cabin as pricier trims, so the main trade is simply the smaller engine.
