Miles Overview
The Velar is Land Rover's mid-size luxury SUV, sitting between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport. On the road it feels more like a grand tourer than a traditional off-roader, with a smooth, quiet ride and confident handling. Inside, the cabin is minimalist and upscale, with a sleek dual-screen infotainment setup and plenty of room for four adults. The cargo area is generous for the class, and the 40/20/40 split rear seats fold nearly flat for bulky loads. Stepping up to the R-Dynamic HSE adds the mild-hybrid 3.0L I6 hybrid and a big power jump to 395 horsepower, along with upgraded leather, a Meridian sound system, and adaptive cruise control. The 3.0L I6 hybrid makes 395 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque, routed through a eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, and returns 21 mpg combined. Only the R-Dynamic HSE offers the available air suspension with adaptive dynamics, which smooths out rough pavement and lowers the body at speed for better aerodynamics.
