Miles Overview
The Velar is Land Rover's sleek mid-size SUV, the one that trades some of the brand's boxy utility for a coupe-like roofline. On the road, it feels more like a grand tourer than a traditional off-roader, with light steering and a calm, refined gait at highway speeds. Inside, the cabin is minimalist and modern, with dual touchscreens controlling most functions and plenty of room for four adults. Cargo space is decent for the class, and the hands-free power tailgate makes loading gear easy, though the sloping roofline cuts into rear headroom. The R-Dynamic HSE sits at the top of the Velar lineup, above the S, R-Dynamic SE, and R-Dynamic SE trims, adding more standard luxury features and the most powerful engine. Its 3.0L V6 makes 380 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, routed through a eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, giving it effortless passing power and a smooth, refined character on the highway. The HSE trim unlocks the available adaptive air suspension, which lets you raise the ride height for off-road clearance or lower it for easier entry and better aerodynamics.
