Miles Overview
The 2016 Range Rover Sport slots between the full-size Range Rover and the Discovery, offering a sportier take on Land Rover's luxury SUV formula. It competes with the Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5, and Mercedes-Benz GLE, blending on-road polish with genuine off-road ability. The Sport drives with a poised, athletic feel for its size, and the available dynamic modes sharpen responses when you want them. Inside, the cabin is trimmed in premium materials and offers seating for five, with a practical cargo area and a commanding driving position. Standard tech includes a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, plus available driver aids like adaptive cruise control and a surround-view camera. The SE is the entry point to the Range Rover Sport lineup, skipping the HSE's extra luxury touches but keeping the same capable chassis and off-road hardware. Under the hood is a 3.0L V6 making 340 horsepower, paired with an eight-speed automatic and four-wheel drive that handles everything from highway cruising to muddy trails. The SE rides on standard coil springs rather than air suspension, which means a slightly firmer ride but lower maintenance costs down the road.
