Miles Overview
The 2006 XJ is Jaguar's full-size luxury sedan, the one that competes with the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes S-Class. It drives with a smooth, effortless feel, and the ride is plush enough to soak up rough pavement without complaint. Inside, the cabin wraps you in wood and leather, with easy-to-read gauges and controls that fall naturally to hand. Expect the usual Jaguar quirks: the cup holders are flimsy, and the steering-column stalks take some getting used to. The 2006 XJ is the base full-size sedan, with a standard suspension and fewer options than the Vanden Plas or Super V8. Its 4.2L pairs with a smooth automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, giving you effortless highway cruising and a quiet, relaxed character. The base trim skips the adaptive cruise and heated rear seats of the higher trims, but keeps the same plush ride and wood-trimmed cabin.
