Miles Overview
This is a full-size luxury sedan with a classic, elegant shape that still turns heads. The transmission is impressively smooth, and the car feels well balanced and surprisingly eager through turns. Inside, genuine burled walnut and leather give it a club-room feel, and the sound system rivals a good home setup. The sunroof has a known catch that specialists can fix easily, and the leather needs careful cleaning to avoid stains. A more powerful engine and richer interior appointments set the XJ8 apart from the base XJ6, while keeping the same graceful body. Under the hood is a 4.0L V8 paired with a automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, giving it effortless highway passing and a muted, refined exhaust note. The XJ8's standard suspension is tuned for comfort, so expect a soft, floating ride rather than sporty handling.
