Miles Overview
The X-Type was Jaguar's entry-level sedan, built on a platform shared with the Ford Mondeo. It handles corners with a planted feel, and the steering gives you good feedback through the wheel. Inside, you get wood and leather trim that make the cabin feel more expensive than the price suggests. Owners mention electrical issues like window regulators and AC problems, so a thorough inspection is wise. All-wheel drive and a manual transmission set the base X-Type apart from the automatic-only models above it. The 2.5L with the manual transmission and all-wheel drive gives this sedan a sure-footed feel in rain or snow, though the engine needs revs to feel quick.
