The Transit Connect is Ford's compact van, the smallest of its commercial vans and a common choice for delivery fleets and small businesses. It drives more like a car than a truck, with light steering and a tidy turning radius that makes city work easy. Inside, the cabin is basic but functional, with hard plastics and a straightforward layout that prioritizes durability over luxury. The sliding rear doors and low load floor make it easy to load cargo, and the tall roof option adds serious space for tall items. The XLT adds cruise control, power windows and locks, and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel over the base XL. Its 2.5L I4 makes 169 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque, routed through a six-speed automatic to the front wheels, enough to keep up with traffic but not to win stoplight races. This trim can be had with the rearview camera and trailer sway control that aren't available on the XL.
