2020 Ford Transit Connect XL

The 2020 Transit Connect is Ford's compact cargo van, the one you cross-shop with the Ram ProMaster City and the Nissan NV200. It drives more like a small car than a van, with light steering and a tight turning radius that make it easy to park in the city. The cabin is functional and roomy up front, with lots of cubbies and a tall roof that gives you plenty of headroom. The rear doors open wide and the low load floor makes it simple to slide heavy boxes in and out. The XL is the base cargo van, below the XLT and Titanium; you get vinyl seats and manual mirrors, but the same 2.0L engine and eight-speed automatic as every Transit Connect. Its 2.0L I4 makes 162 horsepower and 144 lb-ft of torque, routed through the eight-speed automatic to the front wheels, and it returns 25 mpg combined. The XL skips the XLT's power mirrors and upgraded audio, but you still get the Pre-Collision Assist with pedestrian detection and a rearview camera as standard.
