The Transit Connect is Ford's compact cargo van, a smaller, more maneuverable alternative to full-size vans for city work. It drives like a small car, with light steering and a tight turning radius that make it easy to park and thread through narrow streets. Inside, the cabin is basic but functional, with durable materials and a high seating position that gives you a good view of the road. The tall roof and boxy body give you a surprisingly roomy cargo area with a low load floor, and sliding rear doors make loading easy. The XLT adds power windows and locks over the base XL, but you still skip the XL's lower starting price. Its 2.0L I4 makes 136 horsepower and pairs with a four-speed automatic, which is adequate for city routes but feels strained on the highway.
