Miles Overview
The Mirage is Mitsubishi's smallest hatchback, a five-seat economy car that competes with the likes of the Chevrolet Spark and the Fiat 500. It's not quick, but the little three-cylinder is eager enough for city driving, and the light weight makes it feel nimble around town. Inside, the cabin is roomier than the outside suggests, with a surprisingly large hatch area for such a small car. Owners note that the ride is a bit bumpy and wind noise is noticeable, especially in the back seat, but the car has been generally reliable. The ES is the nicer of the two trims, adding cruise control and a leather-wrapped steering wheel that the base DE doesn't have. Its 1.2L I3 makes 74 horsepower and works with the five-speed automatic, which is fine for around-town errands but gets noisy on the highway. The ES can be optioned with a navigation system and a rearview camera, which are rare in this price bracket.
