The 2022 Polestar 2 is the brand's electric fastback sedan, a direct rival to the Tesla Model 3 and the BMW i4. It drives with a planted, confident feel, and the steering is quick and precise, making it genuinely fun on a back road. Inside, the cabin is minimalist and clean, with a large portrait touchscreen running Google's Android Automotive interface. The liftback body gives you a wide, useful opening to the cargo area, though rear headroom is a bit tight for tall passengers. Single-motor front-wheel drive sets the E apart from the dual-motor all-wheel-drive versions above it, trading power for better efficiency and a lower price. Its electric motor makes 402 horsepower and sends power to the front wheels, which gives it a calm, predictable character around town and enough punch for highway merging. Polestar rates the E at 249 miles of range, and the front-drive layout means you'll see less tire wear and slightly better winter traction than you might expect from a front-heavy EV.
